Our Emerald Isle gift store is not even open yet, but I thought Mother’s Day is the perfect time to share my thoughts as I delve into this new (and scary!) adventure of opening a store on Emerald Isle.
The first thing I feel is gratitude at this point in my life I have two wonderful mothers that I get to share this journey with….my daughters.
I always tell them “you are better women than I” and I mean it.
Like many of you, I have watched my children grow and turn into incredible mothers themselves. I love watching them handle the trials and tribulations of motherhood (parenthood) much the same as I did…birth, teething, up-all-nighters, scabbed knees.
I, however, never had to deal with learning disabilities or Covid or home schooling, all while attempting to open a business! I don’t know how they do it.
I have been very blessed to be able to do many things in my life and have had a prior successful career, but I have never been more excited than I am about this adventure of living in a place that many only get to vacation in…Emerald Isle!
I have found “Nice Matters!” to be an Emerald Isle truth and was very lucky to have found my beach home in a store front at Village West. Everybody on Emerald Isle has been very supportive as they’ve found out about our location, services, and products.
My daughters, my partners, Ashley and Cody, I love you.
To the rest of you…I invite you to add your love here to those people that you think are fabulous mothers…they may be your mothers, but they may also be your daughters.
