Meet The Owners: Cody

Hello. I’m Cody. My wanderings have taken me all over the States and I have lived in Massachusetts, Florida, California, Washington and finally our forever place, North Carolina. I lived here nearly 10 years ago for the summer, I waitressed at a waterfront restaurant, I beached whenever I could, I loved the rainstorms, and I knew then that someday my feet would take me back to a place that immediately felt like home.

I graduated from Lasell University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology with a focus on children and adolescents and a minor in Communications. For me, college was still about learning people and learning more about myself. I never thought that my degree would lead me to opening a boutique store on an island with my family, but life’s funny that way isn’t it?

When we moved here in 2018, I became a Foster Care Social Worker. I learned so much about the people that reside here. I loved my job, I loved the kids and I loved the foster parents. Watching children bloom beats any sunset. When my husband and I found out we were pregnant, I decided to become a full-time Momma. My husband Preston is the General Manager of the Swansboro Food & Beverage Company and being so close to home to spend as much time with us as he can has worked out perfectly for us. When you add in that my sister and her family live 8 minutes up the street, my Mom lives on Emerald Isle, and my Aunt lives in Swansboro, we knew we had our village and we count our blessings daily for that.

Living in major cities teaches you a lot about people, their cultures, what triggers them, how trauma can provide growth and how kindness goes farther than anything. The southern hospitality and charm wasn’t lost on me a decade ago, and when my husband and I decided to extend our family with our beautiful daughter, Sage, we knew this was where we wanted to be, where we wanted to see her grow up. I love the Crystal Coast area and specifically Emerald Isle, Swansboro, and all of it’s neighboring towns. That small town feel was something I missed in my travels and something I wanted Sage to have in her upbringing.

I am sure y’all will see her from time to time at Enchanted Interiors as she is a Momma’s girl through and through. When we aren’t working and chasing after a toddler, you will find us cooking at home, gardening out back, or soaking up the sun with everyone else.

I can’t wait to meet y’all. Please let me know if I can be of any help. I am constantly rearranging and redecorating my own home and can assist you in making your furniture and décor selections.

See you soon!
